Third quote we got and the only one that talked about base depth instead of just showing us paver samples. Two seasons and a hard winter later it is dead flat. That conversation was the reason we picked them.

They talked me out of the dark travertine I wanted and into a lighter one. In August I understand why. My kids can actually walk on it barefoot at 3pm, which was not true of the old concrete.

The wall the previous owner built was leaning into the yard. They showed me there was no drain pipe behind it at all. Rebuilt with proper stone and a daylighted drain, and it has not moved through two wet springs.

We have a delivery truck in and out weekly for the business we run at home. They spec-ed 80mm pavers and a deeper base for that specifically. Four years, no ruts, no settling at the apron.

Steel framed, not wood, which they explained mattered because of the gas appliances. Every rough-in was in before the veneer. Feels like part of the house rather than something parked on the patio.

The old steps had risers that were all slightly different and I tripped on them constantly. The new flight is even the whole way up and I have not thought about it once since, which I suppose is the point.

Really good work and a fair written price that did not move. Knocking one star because weather pushed our start date twice, though they did call ahead both times rather than leaving us guessing.

We run a salt system and they immediately asked about that before recommending anything. Went with porcelain. Two years of sun and salt and it looks the same as the day it went down.
